Look at my work and see (sur-) realistic fantasy paintings.

I create my paintings using a mix of techniques to achieve my desired result.

The techniques I use include a combination of freehand airbrush with traditional brush and drawing on various substrates such as wood, canvas, textile or metal. The paintings are built up from an underpainting as already done by the old masters. This to create a nice depth. After this it is built up in layers. This technique allows colors to interact in subtle ways, creating a rich, complex visual experience that flat, single-layer paintings cannot match.

Seeing and feeling my surroundings gives me inspiration that announces itself as images in my head. I translate these images into an appropriate background.

Process

Image is a visual language & what particularly intrigues me is that it is a universal language.

My reference, the inspiration in my head, is very clear.

Creating this image physically, so that everyone can give a translation to it from their own perception, is my goal.

The route towards it remains a voyage of discovery. Each work is a struggle, a journey without navigation.
